TVS look forward to upbeat marketshare of scooter segment to 18% soon

TVS Motors Company has recently proclaimed that its new products will help in growing its marketshare in scooter segment from 15 per cent to to 18 per cent over the next few months.

"With the new launch of Zest we will increase our marketshare to 18 per cent from 15 per cent now," TVS Motor VP (sales) JS Srinivasan said.

"We hope to get 15,000 scooters units additional per month with the new launch, over and above the 60,000 units sales a month from the other scooter models," he added.

According to the company said, in two wheelers of scooter segment currently position at 26 per cent plus in two years this will make bigger to 30 per cent.

Whereas, TVS said Jupiter model had helped the company to observes sharper expansion in the last four months as rapidly male scooters sales was getting higher.

"Male segment scooters is almost 36 per cent of the category. Jupiter launched last October has helped us driving growth at 54 per cent in the last four months," Srinivisan said.

On the other hand, the company said motorcycle, scooter and mopeds sales are almost regularly distributed between combined two wheelers sales of the company together with would stay focused in each of these segments respectively.
