Ford India created an astir in Indian car market by launching Ford Figo, made crazy to all kind of car lovers and successfully touched the surging sales figure. It is a small car that became huge popular and recognized as a fuel efficient car and priced between Rs 4-5 lakh.
Though Maruti Suzki lead the Indian market for offering such segment of cars, Ford India gave a strong competition by launching the luxurious hatchback and made its stand strong in the Indian auto market. T
he huge success of Figo brought the ecstatic period for auto giant, in fact fostered its step to introduces various other models in same segment that are set to be priced between Rs 3.69 to Rs. 5.57 lakh. Such hatchbacks are expected to be unveiled by 2015 and lets car lovers buy their desirable affordable cars.
Now a days Indian market witnesses the boosted sales figure of some prestigious brands such as Mercedes Audi, BMW, Toyota and General Motors and such companies has introduced plenty of models to lure the customers and that created a tough competition in the auto market.
Besides that small car that is considered as a backbone of Indian car market dominated by brands like Maruti, Hyundai, Fiat, and Tata. However Ford India also entered in small car segment and got huge profit and acclamation for its luxurious car Ford Figo.
President of Ford Motors of Asia Pacific and Africa, Joseph R Hinrichs was spotted by saying, “we are excited for our great success, Ford India successfully managed to sell 83,887 in 2010 that is comparatively much higher than the 2009.” He also quoted that 70 per cent of the revenue came from hatchback segment from Indian car market.
Besides that Ford India has already reveled that it is keen to set up its production plant in India and location is decided in Gujarat. On the other hand auto giant also expressed to shift its headquarter from Chennai to New Delhi.
Mr Hinrichs revealed, “The new plant is fostered with the aim to meet the demand of customers and we are planning to set up it soon. Besides that we have realized our growth in India and will carry it forward in the best possible manner.” |
