Ford India's sub-compact SUV - the Ecosport has been launched in the year 2013, which presently has accomplished the 1 lakh sales breakthrough in domestic wholesales and export combined. The mini SUV, presently, is the top-offering model in the Ford's line-up. In residential market alone, the company has sold in excess of 60,000 units of the auto to date, and keeps on offering around 4000-5,000 units/month.

"The demand for Ford EcoSport continues to be extremely strong. We have diligently worked with our suppliers to significantly reduce the waiting period for most variants of the Ford EcoSport to meet this demand. With improved availability, we are also planning to introduce a third shift at our Chennai plant to ensure that the Ford EcoSport is available across our showrooms, ahead of the upcoming festive season.", he added.
Ford India export the urban SUV to a few markets all inclusive, including South Africa, Taiwan, Australia and a few European nations.
