After the domestic automobile company Maruti Suzuki and other international auto majors, Renault has also announced to hike the price of its latest sport utility vehicle Renault KOLEOS. The company official indicated the the unfavorable step of price hike occurred due to slowdown in India's economy where rupees skidded all time low against dollar led increase in the cost of raw materials.
“We never wanted to take such step, but continuous increasing raw material price made it the most necessitated step and prompted us to take the painful step,” said Marc Nassif, Managing Director of Renault India.
The Renault KOLEOS was introduced in the Indian car market in the month of September this year and got overwhelming response from Indian buyers. The luxurious SUV was mainly recognized for its reliability, performance and features. Apart from Indian auto market, the powerful sedan Renault KOLEOS registered unexpected sales figures in various other continents. It successfully witnessed 51% YOY gorwth in European market in the mid half of 2011.
Powered by 2L diesel engine, the Renault KOLEOS is blessed with raft of features that include Dual Zone Auto Air Conditioner, Comfortable Seats, Cup Holders, Power Steering and more. Besides, it comes with Bose Music System with Bluetooth. The highly efficient engine of the SUV is capable of churning out maximum power of 150 PS at the rate of 4000 rpm and highest torque of 320 Nm at 2000 rpm.
The new price of the Renault KOLEOS is will be implemented on January 1, 2012 and expected to be around Rs 23.99 lakh. Earlier it was available at a price of Rs 22.99 lakh. |
